A new Deacon!
It was a happy day at San Fernando Cathedral today, as Jeff Moore was ordained a deacon by Archbishop Jose Gomez. Deacon Moore has been in the Pastoral Provision process for the past few years, after resigning as an Episcopal priest and entering the Catholic Church. Congratulations to him and his beautiful family!

Deacon Moore's assignment has not yet been determined by the archbishop. He will continue working at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center, and will probably also have some hospital chaplaincy work. I'm sure he'll be with us fairly often, but what his formal assignment will be, he does not know.
What a great day for the Church! I will keep Deacon Moore and his beautiful family in my prayers.
Our prayers are with the Moore Family. Congratulations Deacon and Mrs. Moore.
