Chapel at Allen Hall (the Seminary of the Archdiocese of Westminster),
where the diaconal ordinations took place.
Three former Anglican bishops -- John Broadhurst, Andrew Burnham and Keith Newton -- were ordained as Catholic deacons today, thus becoming the first clergy of the first Ordinariate. Here's a
wonderful eye-witness account of today's event. They will receive priestly ordination this Saturday at the Westminster Cathedral of the Most Precious Blood.

This is a great day for both Anglicans and Catholics.
Is there any idea when an Ordinariate will be established in the US?
Will each Ordinarate be under a different patronage or will they all be the same?
I greet this with incredible joy and incredible sadness.
Joy because the Ordinariate is now a reality. Sadness because of the brokenness of the Body of Christ which caused the Reformation in the first place and then the Ordianraite in the second.
The misunderstanding and bitterness and pain that so many will feel on both shores of the Tiber.
I have stood on both shores and therefore I am weeping both for joy and in spiritual pain.
Blessings to all.
