Requiem Mass on 9/11

The students' Mass today was offered as a Requiem for those who died in the attack on our nation eight years ago. We celebrated the Mass in Latin (Ordinary Form), and it was a strikingly beautiful occasion. Several of our young men chanted the Introit, and our Honors Choir sang a beautiful Mass setting by Ludovico da Viadana (1560-1627).

The memorial consisting of the names of those who died, set up in the Lady Chapel.

The procession and proclamation of the Gospel.

The homily, explaining the significance of the day.

Incensing the oblations and the altar at the Offertory.

The elevation of the Sacred Host at the Consecration.
