One more step forward...

The appointment of an Ordinary for the U.S. Ordinariate is welcome news indeed, even if this story has broken somewhat prematurely.  You can read about it here.

Fr Jeffrey Steenson is a priest already known and respected by many of the Catholic bishops, and having him in this position will help to give credibility to this newest jurisdiction in the Church in this country.

My own acquaintance with Fr Steenson goes back several years, and the many impressive gifts he brings to this position bodes well for the future of the Ordinariate.

May God bless you, Fr Steenson, and all those who will be entering the Ordinariate!

Someone let the cat out of the bag!
It is as i had foreseen and I hope Father Christopher that you are not disappointed (relief perhaps?) . Some Ordinariate bound may be however.
MANY YEARS to Father Jeffrey!
MANY YEARS to you whatever your roll may be in the Ordinariate.

Oh, good heavens! I'm not disappointed in the least... I'm first and foremost the pastor of Our Lady of the Atonement.

As we move forward, we follow our pastor, Fr. Phillips and lift our family prayers with the rest of our parishioners for our new Ordinary. We rejoice in the love our Sweet Lord has shown to us through this parish and the Anglican patrimony, whilst we (cradle Catholics) fully embrace the life of this parish. Marriage, families, burials and Sacramental life have given us the food for the journey on this side of heaven. We enter the next phase in joyful anticipation of all that Our Lady of the Atonement has prepared for us, her children.

So what's up with Archbishop Hepworth. I thought he was one of the Archbishops that really aided in getting the Ordinariates going. And now he is being thrown under the bus, for a lack of a better term, by not even being allowed to even be a priest. And then being told to resign by the TAC. Could you please shed some light on this Father. This is all new news to me.

Archbishop Hepworth did indeed do a great deal of work for the establishing of Ordinariates. However, he is in the difficult position of being a Catholic priest who left the visible communion of the Catholic Church, was married, divorced and then remarried. His tragic choices are preventing him from having a part in this.

I didn't know that. I can see why now. Is the BODW being revised?.

An Ordinariate liturgy is being developed, using the BODW as a template.
