Solemn Evensong and Benediction

A celebration of Solemn Evensong and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be live-streamed on Sunday afternoon, May 16th, from Our Lady of the Atonement Church in San Antonio, Texas. Because this is taking place immediately following a concert of organ music presented by Dr. Gerre Hancock and Dr. Judith Hancock, the time will be approximate, but the processional hymn should begin at approximately 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (4:00 p.m. Central Time), or perhaps just after. It can be viewed at this web address, and it will be archived there, so if you are unable to view it live, you will be able to access it later.

Fr. Christopher...thank you for offering the most sane, beautifully-written and inspiring blog on the net. Likewise, the photos you include are incredible. My question to you is about the Poor Clares. While attrition is to be expected during formation--there seems to be many
young women leaving the PCPA's.
I am fearful that the community
is following the demise of vocations that the Missionaries of
Charity experienced after Mother
Teresa's death.
The return to traditional religious
life is appealing--yet apparently,
fragile.

Actually, I think the PCPA's are going to be fine. They've been spending some time strengthening their spiritual foundations, getting used to the necessary changes with Mother Angelica unable to give the leadership they were accustomed to. I think we'll see some healthy growth, all in God's time.

I believe that just as some are now at OLA, others are also in other areas besides Alabama.

At least I thought I heard this.

The music the Atonement Parish and School offer is absolutely astounding! I have never heard such beautiful music produced by so young a choir. You are doing an excellent job all you of Our Lady of the Atonement. I urge you to keep it up and always hold strong, we need more of your type in this world and that is what your school is creating.

The Evensong and Benediction were lovely, I did miss the melodies sung at my former Anglo Catholic parish for O Salutaris Hostia and Tantum Ergo. They were easier to sing for the congregation and I would love to hear them sung the same again. Do you always sing the hymns with the same melodies?

You know how we Anglicans are, we hate change. LOL
