One of the happy bits of news announced at the recent Anglican Use Conference held recently in Houston was the impending reception into the Catholic Church of the All Saints Sisters of the Poor. Founded at All Saints Church, Margaret Street, London, in 1851, they came to this country in 1872 to serve at Mt. Calvary Episcopal Church in Baltimore. The Sisters have been a tiny oasis of catholicity in the Episcopal Church, and recently they have discerned that the Divine Will of God would have them in full communion with the See of Peter. Here is a brief video of their monastic life, and an indication of what a welcome addition they will be when they are received into the Church on September 3rd.

Such glad tidings for this Monday morning. Do you know how many sisters are in this order, Father?

I believe there will be ten Sisters received into the Church. There are two others who have chosen to remain as Episcopalians. My understanding is that these two will continue to live with the Community, but will be ministered to by Episcopal ministers. Who knows -- perhaps they will eventually join their Sisters. We should pray for that.
The convent of The All Saints Sisters of the Poor is in Catonsville, Maryland - where I lived as a child. I suspect you will encourage them to move to Texas and join your nuns at Our Lady of The Atonement. The more the merrier !
Father, will the Sisters switch from the Monastic Diurnal to the Book of Divine Worship for their daily office?
I don't know what liturgical arrangements are being discussed. I'm sure the Church will be generous, and the Sisters will be obedient.

This is great...
