The Latin Schola
Here's a picture of the members of our Latin Schola, with Deacon Orr and myself). We'd just finished celebrating a Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Joseph Baca, stepfather of James Griffin (first on the left). The director is Mr. Edmund Murray (second from the right). The schola regularly sings at the Sunday evening Latin Mass (Ordinary Form).
The Mass was offered in the Chapel of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, using the Anglican Use liturgy, with the schola chanting the minor propers in Latin, including the very beautiful Dies irae.
Once again, I give you and the deacons props for offering that very special Mass. I always find the rites of the Church comforting. What I thought was particularly neat was how you celebrated the Mass with both deacons but without any servers. I wonder if you had ever done it like that before, or if this was a first and if you had to bicker in the sacristy about who does what.
By the way, I finally got back to updating my blog, so check out the latest post, where I've posted this same picture along with a few others.
